myWSU browser requirements
End User Workstation Requirements
The myWSU system is powered by Oracle's PeopleSoft software. In order to use the myWSU portal, your work and/or personal computer must meet minimum hardware and software requirements. Your department IT support staff or the WSU IS Help Desk 509-335-HELP (4357) can assist you with questions about these requirements.
Web Browser and Client Operating System Certifications
The following combinations of web (internet) browser and client operating systems will work with myWSU:
- Internet Explorer 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 on Microsoft Windows 7 and Vista
- Firefox 3.6, 7 on Microsoft Windows Vista and 7, Ubuntu, and Mac OS 10.6 and later
- Google Chrome 13 on Microsoft Windows Vista and 7 and Mac OS 10.6 and later
- Apple Safari 3.0, 3.1,3.2, and 4 | 3.1,3.2, and 4 (Apple Safari 3.0) on Mac OS 10.5 and later
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4, and Windows XP are no longer supported by Microsoft. PeopleSoft no longer recommends these operating systems.
OBIEE Web Browser Requirements
The following web (internet) browsers work with OBIEE:
- Internet Explorer 9, 10, and 11
- Mozilla Firefox 11 and later
- Google Chrome 19 and later
- Apple Safari 4 and 5
Additional Items of Note
- Recommended screen resolution is 1024x768 or higher
- Pop-ups must be turned on
- WSU sites must be set to trusted
- Weekly clearing of cache and cookies is strongly recommended.
Settings for best user-experience:
The following end-user browser settings provide best-use options for both the casual user of myWSU portal and the power user. In order to ensure optimal performance when using the myWSU portal, the following are suggested settings for web browsers.
These settings provide the best user experience for the myWSU portal system (myWSU.wsu.edu) and ensure all portal services will work as expected.
Deleting Cache and Cookies
- Select the menu
- Select
- Make sure that the pull-down menu is set to and all boxes are checked
- Select the button
- Close and re-open the browser
Allowing Popups from WSU site
- Select the menu
- Select
- Select the tab
- Select the button next to the section
- Add the following to the field: *.wsu.edu
- Select the button
- Select the button back on the main options window
These settings provide the best user experience for the myWSU portal system (myWSU.wsu.edu) and ensure all portal services will work as expected.

These settings provide the best user experience for the myWSU portal system (myWSU.wsu.edu) and ensure all portal services will work as expected. Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7 and up are the only officially supported Browsers.
